The Royal Trusts
There is a well-established tradition of royal support for charitable undertakings. Today, such support is provided in the form of royal patronage and representation for specific organisations and purposes, as well as more directly via grants from royal trusts.
There are three Royal trusts:
Crown Princess Märtha’s Memorial Fund
The purpose of the fund is to provide financial support to social and humanitarian initiatives carried out by non-governmental organisations.
Princess Märtha Louise's Fund
The return on the fund’s investments is used to provide assistance to disabled children under the age of 16 in Norway.
The Crown Prince and Crown Princess’ Humanitarian Fund
In Norway grants are allocated to projects aimed at improving conditions for children and young people. In countries abroad, the fund targets projects related to health and education.
