Practical information

The Royal Palace is open to visitors during the summer. The following provides answers to the most frequently asked questions about the guided tours and events at the Royal Palace.

Accessibility 

The guided tour covers two floors. An elevator is available for elderly or mobility-impaired visitors. Wheelchairs and rollators will also be provided upon request. Palace personnel will gladly assist anyone in need of help using the stairs. Folding chairs are available if needed.

For reasons of accessibility, visitors using large electric wheelchairs must be transported directly to the second floor by elevator.

Baby carriages

Baby carriages and other child carriers must be left in the cloakroom. The children are of course welcome on the tour.

Entrance

The public entrance is located on the west side of the Royal Palace (at the rear of the Palace, facing Parkveien).

Cloakroom

Visitors must leave their handbags, coats, cameras and umbrellas in the cloakroom lockers. Baby carriages and other child carriers must be left in the cloakroom. 

Dogs

Guide dogs / seeing eye dogs are welcome on tours of the Palace.

Gift shop

At the end of the tour it is possible to visit the gift shop, located next to the cloakroom. The gift shop sells souvenirs, books and postcards.

Mobile phones

Out of courtesy to the guides and other visitors, mobile phones must be turned off during the tour.

Parking

Parking of cars and busses at the Royal Palace is not permitted. An exception is made for cars with parking stickers for disabled persons.

Photography

Photography is not permitted inside the Royal Palace, but a photo opportunity has been set up in the Vestibule.

Toilet facilities

Public toilets are located near the cloakroom. Wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities are also available within the Palace.

Åpningstider 2024

Publikumssesongen 2024 starter 22. juni og varer til 18. august. I denne perioden vil Slottet være åpent for omvisninger hver dag fra klokken 10.00 til 17.00.

Det er tre omvisninger hver time (10.00, 10.20, 10.40 osv.). Den siste omvisningen starter klokken 17.00. 

Det er fem omvisninger på engelsk hver dag: klokken 12.00, 12.20, 14.00, 14.20 og 16:00.

Avvikende åpningstider

Enkelte dager starter ikke omvisningene før klokken 13.00. Dette gjelder 4. juli, 20. juli, 9. august og 16. august.

Publikumssesongen 2024 starter 22. juni og varer til 18. august. Billetter vil være i salg fra tidlig i mars. 

Priser 2024:

  • Voksen ink. pensjonist: 220,-
  • Student: 110,-
  • Barn (6 – 17): 110,-
  • Barn fra 0 – 5: gratis
  • Med rullestol (uansett alder): 110,-
  • Ledsager: gratis
  • Lukkede grupper inntil 40 personer: 6000,-

Billetten til omvisning på Slottet inkluderer også inngang til Dronning Sonja KunstStall.

Prisene inkluderer billettavgift på kroner 25,- ved kjøp gjennom Ticketmaster.
