Talte om HIV og reisemedisin

Kronprinsessa opna innlegget sitt med å fortelje om ei hending som gjorde inntrykk.

«When I flew into Vienna four years ago to attend the 18th International AIDS Conference, the crew on the aircraft made an announcement that touched me deeply: They wished those of us onboard who were to attend the conference, all the best – The fact that this message was conveyed in the air, felt somehow groundbreaking – as so many of my HIV positive friends all over the world have been living with travel restrictions because of their positive status. That was an optimistic entry to the International AIDS Conference that particular year.»

Motverke stigma

Under overskrifta «On information and mobilization against HIV» heldt Kronprinsessa eit innlegg om kor viktig det er å slåst mot HIV og motverke stigmatisering av dei som er smitta.

Etter Kronprinsesse Mette-Marit heldt professor Birgitta Åsjö eit innlegg med tittelen «HIV/AIDS can be beaten, but the war is not won».

Konferanse om reisemedisin

Nothern European Conference on Travel Medicine er ein konferanse som blir arrangert i Nord-Europa annakvart år. Deltakarane er legar, sjukepleiarar og andre helsearbeidarar.

Tema for konferansen speglar det varierte arbeidsfeltet reisemedisin etter kvart har vorte – frå terrorisme, reising i sårbare område til ei rekkje tema om sjukdom på reise.
