To the People of Afghanistan,

I was profoundly saddened by the news of the devastating earthquake affecting Afghanistan, which has claimed so many lives and caused widespread destruction.

On behalf of myself and the Norwegian people, I would like to express my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the bereaved families and others affected by this tragic event.
