Her Royal Highness Princess Ingrid Alexandra
Her Royal Highness Princess Ingrid Alexandra was born on 21 January 2004 at Rikshospitalet University Hospital in Oslo. The Princess is second in line of succession to the throne.
The Princess was christened in the Palace Chapel by Bishop Gunnar Stålsett on 17 April 2004.
The Princess’s godparents are His Majesty The King, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Fredrik of Denmark, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain (then the Prince of Asturias), Her Highness Princess Märtha Louise, and Ms Marit Tjessem, the mother of the Crown Princess.
Princess Ingrid Alexandra konfirmeres in the Palace Chapel at the Royal Palace Saturday 31 August 2019. She is preparing for confirmation with the Asker congregation.
The confirmation serivce will be officiated by the Bishop of Oslo, Kari Veiteberg, and Praeses Helga Haugland Byfuglien.
The Princess began attending day-care centre in Asker on 4 January 2006, and on 19 August 2010 she began attending Jansløkka elementary school. From August 2014 until spring 2019 Princess Ingrid Alexandra attended Oslo International School at Bekkestua. On 19 August 2019 The Princess began attending Uranienborg school in Oslo.
The Princess has already carried out several official engagements, in addition to joining other members of the Royal Family to greet the annual children’s parade on 17 May (Norwegian Constitution Day) and attend the traditional ski jumping tournament at Holmenkollen in Oslo.
In 2016 Princess Ingrid Alexandra lit the fire during the Youth Olympics at Lillehammer, and in November 2018 she christened Norway's new research vessel, the Crown Prince Haakon.
In 2016, the Princess Ingrid Alexandra Sculpture Park opened in the Palace Park, with sculptures made for children - by children. More sculptures are added every year, and The Princess takes active part in choosing the designs from among the contributions from school children all over the country.
The Princess enjoys skiing and is also into kick-boxing. She shares the joy of water sports, and especially surfing, with the rest of her family.
